So periodontal disease is a chronic infection or inflammation of the tissues that support the teeth, the gums, the bone, and supporting structures like the ligaments. So, if you have a diagnosis of periodontal disease, we can work with you. And we also have a periodontist, who is a specialist that comes into our practice to treat those types of cases, so that we can maintain your dental health.
There's also a correlation between heart disease and all sorts of other diseases, hypertension, diabetes. All those things have a higher incidence of periodontal disease, so people oftentimes don't know that they have bone loss or mobility of their teeth until it's too late.
