So Invisalign treatment is a form of clear aligner therapy to straighten teeth. It's basically an orthodontic treatment. It's used a lot for improving patients' occlusion or their bite and also for cosmetic reasons. One of the things we know is that when teeth are straight and they're positioned properly over the bone, they also look the best, and they feel the best, and they last the longest.
Almost anyone is a good candidate for Invisalign treatment if they have crowded teeth, shifting teeth, want a better smile, or adolescents who need braces, a lot of them now are going through aligner therapy as opposed to traditional brackets and wires. So in our office, we offer both clear aligners as well as regular braces. So if you want to schedule a consultation, we'd be more than happy to see you.
The process for Invisalign treatment or clear aligner treatment is basically, first a consultation to determine if you're a good candidate and how long the treatment would take. Some cases can take several weeks, several months, and some could take over a year. So the initial assessment is just to determine if you're a good candidate and how long treatment would take. Once we determine that you are a good candidate, we send all of your records and photos, and we work with the labs on your prescription and your diagnosis to come up with the best plan for you. And then we can tell you how long treatment will take.
Generally speaking, the average Invisalign case or the average clear aligner case takes about nine months. And then afterwards, you get retainers, just like regular braces. By having teeth in the right spot, they're going to look the best, and they're going to be the healthiest. So it accomplishes a lot of different things for people, but I think it really depends what your goal is. So if your goal is longevity, straight teeth is the way to go. If your goal is cosmetics, straight teeth is the way to go. And straight teeth can be accomplished with orthodontics, or clear aligners or Invisalign is one of those products.
