Root Canal
Why Do I Need Root Canal Treatment?
The pulp in the center of your tooth consists of blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. This pulp can become infected when it comes into contact with bacteria due to a tooth being cracked or developing a deep cavity. Root canal treatment involves removing the infected pulp from within the tooth and root canals (the centers of the tooth roots), and preserving the exterior of the tooth. Without a root canal, tooth extraction would be the only solution.
The good news is that you don't need to visit an endodontist (a dentist specializing in issues affecting dental pulp). Dr. Trotter and his team can perform a root canal safely, with virtually no discomfort, in the span of a single appointment at our office in Brooklyn.
