Dental Bridges
So What Is A Dental Bridge?
Made With Custom Craftsmanship
While our office manufactures ceramic CEREC restorations in-house, we also craft bridges at a trusted dental lab from a variety of other materials. Depending on your needs and budget, crowns and pontics can be made from metal alloys, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM), all-porcelain, or zirconia.
We also provide state-of-the-art dental implants...
Implant-Supported Bridges
An implant-supported bridge looks similar to a traditional bridge. However, instead of attaching to your natural teeth, these prosthetics are secured to titanium implants placed within the jawbone.
Implant-supported bridges also provide a few important health and functional benefits. Implants prevent jawbone bone recession and help patients avoid a sunken facial appearance that can develop after tooth loss.
Additionally, implants do not require making any permanent alternations to your remaining healthy teeth.

While dental bridges are a great option for many of our Brooklyn, NY, patients, treatment is not right for everyone. During your initial consultation, our dentist will check:
Tooth Density
Patients must have a good enamel density in their abutment teeth in order to support the crowns of a dental bridge. A small amount of enamel is removed prior to attaching the crowns, which will only work if the natural teeth are dense and strong.
Oral Health
Other conditions such as periodontal disease and tooth decay will need to be treated before moving on to your bridge. Our dentist will make sure your teeth and gums are in good health so you have a strong foundation for your bridge.
Additional Requirements for Dental Implants
There are a few more factors that impact your candidacy for dental implants. Patients with insufficient jawbone density may need a bone graft in order to qualify. We also do not recommend treatment for patients who smoke, have uncontrolled diabetes, or other disorders that can increase the risks of a surgical procedure.

Important Cost Considerations
While the cost of a dental bridge is different for each patient, traditional treatment will usually be more affordable. Our Brooklyn practice accepts most forms of dental insurance which can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expenses, as well as financing plans through CareCredit®. It is important to understand that a dental bridge, particularly an implant-supported bridge, is an investment in your long-term oral health and happiness.
Treatment will protect your gum tissue, jaw, and remaining natural teeth from further damage and prevent the need for costly restorative work in the future. Most importantly, you regain the ability to enjoy life with a full set of teeth and can feel confident about the way you look when you smile.
